POST PROCEDURE INSTRUCTIONS
Post-Treatment Care Protocol for Peel and Dermaplaning
To optimize the results from your peel or dermaplaning treatment and promote proper healing, please follow this post-treatment care protocol: 1. Immediately after the treatment: -Your skin may feel sensitive, tight, or slightly irritated. This is normal and should subside within a few hours. - Avoid touching your face to prevent introducing bacteria or irritants to the treated area. - Apply a gentle, hydrating moisturizer recommended by your provider to soothe and nourish the skin. 2. Protect your skin from the sun: - Shield your skin from direct sun exposure for at least one week post-treatment. - If you must go outside, wear a broad-spectrum sunscreen with a minimum SPF of 30 and reapply it every two hours. - Cover your face with a wide-brimmed hat or use a protective umbrella. 3. Avoid picking or peeling: - Refrain from picking, scratching, or peeling the treated area to prevent scarring or skin damage. - Let the dead skin naturally slough off on its own. 4. Skip exfoliating products and treatments: - Avoid using any exfoliating products, such as scrubs or chemical exfoliants, for at least one week post-treatment. - Refrain from scheduling any other exfoliating treatments, including facials or microdermabrasion, for two weeks. 5. Hydrate and moisturize: - Keep your skin well-hydrated by drinking plenty of water. - Apply a gentle, non-irritating moisturizer recommended by your provider regularly to maintain moisture and support healing. 6. Protect your skin from harsh environments: - Avoid exposure to extreme temperatures, such as saunas, hot tubs, or steam rooms, for at least one week. - Minimize contact with chlorinated pools or harsh chemicals that may irritate your skin. 7. Follow your provider's instructions: - Your provider may recommend additional post-treatment care instructions based on your specific needs. Please follow them diligently for optimal results. Remember, everyone's skin responds differently to treatments. It is normal to experience some mild redness, flaking, or dryness during the healing process. If you have any concerns or questions, do not hesitate to reach out to your provider for guidance. By adhering to this post-treatment care protocol, you can help ensure a smooth recovery and achieve the best possible results from your peel or dermaplaning treatment.
Pre and Post-Treatment Protocol for Laser Hair Removal
Pre-Treatment Care: 1. Avoid sun exposure: Refrain from direct sun exposure or tanning beds for at least four weeks before your laser hair removal treatment. Sunburned or tanned skin can increase the risk of complications and affect the effectiveness of the treatment. 2. Avoid self tanners on the area to be treated one week prior to your laser hair removal session. 3. Shave the treatment area: Shave the area to be treated one day before your appointment. This helps the laser energy target the hair follicles more effectively while minimizing discomfort during the procedure. 4. Avoid certain hair removal methods: Avoid plucking, waxing, or using depilatory creams on the treatment area for at least four weeks before the laser hair removal session. These methods remove the hair from the root, which is necessary for the laser to effectively target the hair follicles. 5. Cleanse your skin: On the day of your treatment, ensure that your skin is clean and free of any lotions, creams, or makeup. This allows the laser to penetrate the skin properly and ensures optimal results. Post-Treatment Care: 1. Apply a soothing cream or gel: After your laser hair removal session, apply a recommended soothing cream or aloe vera gel to the treated area. This helps to calm the skin, reduce redness, and minimize any potential discomfort. 2. Protect your skin from the sun: It is crucial to protect the treated area from sun exposure for at least four weeks following the procedure. Apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher whenever you go outside, even if it's cloudy. 3. Avoid excessive heat: Refrain from activities that may generate heat in the treated area, such as hot showers, saunas, or vigorous exercise for 24-48 hours post-treatment. Heat can increase skin sensitivity and potentially cause complications. 4. Skip certain skincare products: Avoid using products that may irritate or sensitize the treated skin, such as harsh exfoliants, fragrances, or retinoids, for a few days following the treatment. 5. Let the hair shed naturally: It is normal for the treated hair to appear as if it is still growing after the laser hair removal session. Allow the hair to shed naturally without plucking or waxing it. Please follow post-treatment instructions: Your provider may provide you with specific post-treatment instructions based on your individual needs. It is important to follow these instructions carefully to promote proper healing and achieve the best results. By adhering to this pre and post-treatment care protocol, you can optimize the effectiveness of your laser hair removal sessions and minimize the risk of adverse reactions. If you have any concerns or questions, do not hesitate to consult with your provider for guidance and support.
Pre HydroLuxe Facial Treatment Protocol
To ensure optimal results and minimize the risk of skin sensitivity, it is recommended to follow the following pre-treatment protocol before your HydroLuxe Facial: 1. Avoid topical retinols or acids: Refrain from using any skincare products containing retinols or acids for at least 48 hours prior to your scheduled HydroLuxe Facial. These ingredients can increase skin sensitivity and may interfere with the effectiveness of the treatment. 2. Gentle cleansing: Cleanse your face using a mild, non-irritating cleanser on the day of your appointment. This helps to remove any dirt, oil, or makeup from your skin, allowing the HydroLuxe Facial products to penetrate effectively. 3. Hydrate your skin: Prioritize hydration by applying a moisturizer appropriate for your skin type. Well-hydrated skin responds better to treatments and can enhance the overall results of the HydroLuxe Facial. By adhering to this pre-treatment protocol, you can ensure that your skin is in optimal condition and ready to receive the full benefits of the HydroLuxe Facial. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to consult with your skincare professional or provider for personalized guidance.

Dermal Fillers Post Procedure Instructions
Know that you may be rather swollen for a day or two after your treatment, but also know that this is totally normal and that the swelling will subside. Rest assured, the swelling will go down. Prop yourself up with an extra pillow the night of your treatment. This will greatly aid in reducing swelling. Take Arnica 4 times a day for at least 4 days following your treatment. Arnica is available for purchase in our office or at local health food stores. Don’t drink alcohol for at least 3-4 days prior to your appointment. You can count on a lot less bleeding and bruising if follow this guideline. Don’t drink alcohol for at least 24 hours following your treatment, either. Alcohol causes inflammation. Instead, relax and hydrate. Don’t take fish oils, ibuprofen, aspirin, or garlic supplements for up to 7 days before and after your treatment (unless it is medically necessary for you to be on any of those). These also thin your blood and can cause more bruising and bleeding. Don’t exercise for at least 24 hours following treatment. Don’t massage the area post treatment, unless informed to do so by your provider. It will be a bit firm and possibly bumpy for a few days until it fully integrates. If you massage the area without being directed by provider to do so you risk moving the filler around, which could result in undesirable results. If you have persistent pain at the injection site or blanching of the skin contact your provider immediately. Allow 2 full weeks and if you need any adjustments or have any concerns and/or questions call our office

Plasma Treatment Instructions
If you are taking any blood thinners, please let the doctor know immediately, as they may represent a contra-indication to this treatment. These medications include Plavix, Coumadin and Heparin. You may use Tylenol (acetaminophen) as needed prior to the treatment. If you are taking broad beta-blockers such as Inderal (Propranolol), please contact the doctor as this medication may need to be changed to a select beta-blocker in advance of the treatment. If possible, please refrain from, or minimize, smoking three days prior to and one day after the treatment. Smoking may impact healing and oxygen delivery to the scalp, therefore, your results may be improved the longer you are able to stop smoking before and after the treatment. Prescription medications (including heart and blood pressure medication) should be taken as prescribed right up to, and including, the day of and the day after your treatments. Minimize alcoholic consumption the day prior to your PRP treatment. THE MORNING OF YOUR TREATMENT Shower the morning of your treatment and wash your hair very thoroughly using your regular shampoo. Eat regularly the morning of your treatment and please drink approximately 16 oz of water at least 2 hours prior to your treatment. Sedation is NOT required for PRP treatments. However, if you prefer, you may receive sedatives during the procedure. As these can make you drowsy, you cannot drive yourself home following your treatment after taking sedatives. Please arrange to have a responsible person drive you to your destination. If you are unable to have someone drive you home after your procedure and you live near our office, we will call a taxi for you and you will be responsible for the charges. If you need to drive yourself, you must make the doctor aware of your intention prior to the treatments. If you must take Aspirin for cardiac reasons, you certainly may do so, but this may limit your results. It is normal to experience bruising, redness, itching, swelling and/or soreness that may last from 2-5 days following your procedure. If you experience any pain or discomfort you may take Tylenol or other Acetaminophen-containing products as directed. We would prefer if you could refrain from applying ice to the injected area as ice acts as an antiinflammatory. Do not wet your hair for at least 3 hours after your treatment. For the first 3 days, use shampoo that is pH balanced. Do not use any hair products for at least 6 hours after your treatment. Avoid saunas, steam rooms, swimming for 2 days after your treatment. Continue increased water intake the first week after your treatment. Please do not hesitate to call our office should you have any questions or concerns regarding your PRP treatment or aftercare.

Instructions Following BBL for Pigment 1. Intense burning, redness, warmth, and a sunburned sensation are normal responses following BBL™ treatments. The discomfort and redness generally last 2-4 hours after the procedure. Cool compresses with a damp, soft cloth for 10-20 minutes at a time may help relieve the temporary discomfort. Ibuprofen, Advil, Aleve, Motrin, or Tylenol can be taken as directed for pain. 2. Brown patches or spots will look darker and more pronounced immediately following BBL™ treatments. In 2-3 days, these brown areas become even darker and frequently feel scaly like coffee grounds on your skin. Within 1-2 weeks, these dark, scaly areas fall off and leave new, healthy skin behind. NO MATTER HOW TEMPTING, DO NOT PICK OR SCRUB THESE BROWN SPOTS—LET THEM COME OFF ON THEIR OWN! 3. Twice daily use of a bland moisturizer such as CeraVe, Neutrogena, Purpose, Aveeno, etc. is recommended during the first week to keep the skin lubricated. 4. Avoid use of topical skin care products containing retin-A, retinol, glycolic acid, or salicylic acid for 1 week. 5. Makeup can be used if there is no blistering. Caution should be used when applying and removing makeup. The treated area may be delicate and should be treated with care. 6. If the skin is broken or blisters appear, apply an antibiotic ointment and notify our office. The area should be kept lubricated with Vaseline petroleum jelly or Aquaphor to prevent crusting or scabbing of tissue. 7. Some patients will wake up with facial swelling, particularly around the eyes for several days following the treatment. This is normal and usually resolves within 3-5 days. 8. PROLONGED SUN EXPOSURE IS TO BE AVOIDED FOR 4 WEEKS BEFORE AND AFTER TREATMENT. A total sunblock containing zinc oxide or titanium dioxide should be applied daily if you are in the sun. If further treatments are needed, a commitment to stay out of the sun is necessary. Sun exposure may cause certain complications such as severe blistering and permanent skin discoloration. 9. For patients who have a history of frequent cold sores, you should be taking an anti-viral medication such as Valtrex or Famvir for 5 days starting on the day before your treatment.
